Anatomy of the Ureter

The abdominal part is the shortest segment and is located between the pelvic and urethral segments. The urethral part is the shortest segment and is located between the bladder and the urethra.
Functions of the Ureter
The ureter is responsible for transporting urine from the kidneys to the bladder. This process is known as peristalsis and involves the contraction and relaxation of the ureter muscles. The ureter also helps to regulate the flow of urine, ensuring that it is not too fast or slow.
