Community infrastructure that prioritizes healthspan can mitigate the escalating burden of age-related diseases, reduce health disparities, and align with the goals of modern geriatric care. This article explores the intersection of public health strategies and community-based infrastructure to optimize independent aging.
By 2050, the global population aged 60 years and older is projected to double, reaching over two billion. With this demographic transition, the prevalence of chronic illnesses, frailty, and functional decline is expected to rise exponentially.
