The urogenital tract encompasses a complex system vulnerable to a spectrum of infectious and non-infectious pathologies. Its unique anatomical and physiological features necessitate specialized immune defense mechanisms to maintain homeostasis while preventing pathogen invasion. Over the past decade, research has elucidated novel aspects of both innate and adaptive immunity within the urogenital mucosa, with significant implications for disease prevention, diagnosis, and management.
