Treatment of fatigue should be tailored to the underlying cause. This may involve medical management of underlying conditions, lifestyle modifications, or referral to specialists. Additionally, patient education plays a key role in managing fatigue, as patients need to understand the importance of adhering to treatment plans and making necessary lifestyle changes.
Fatigue is a complex symptom that requires a comprehensive clinical approach. By understanding its classifications, conducting a thorough history and physical examination, utilizing appropriate laboratory tests, and implementing tailored treatments, healthcare professionals can effectively manage fatigue and improve patient outcomes.
