India's diverse ecology and vast population make it a hotspot for vector-borne diseases (VBDs).
Common VBDs include malaria, dengue, and chikungunya, causing significant morbidity and mortality.
Challenges include inadequate surveillance, lack of awareness, and resistance to insecticides.
Efforts are focused on early detection, vector control, and community participation.
Addressing VBDs requires a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach, encompassing not only medical interventions but also environmental and social measures.
