It involves the identification of modifiable and non-modifiable risk factors such as age, gender, family history, hypertension, diabetes, and smoking status. Understanding these factors enables healthcare professionals to stratify patients based on their risk and customize their treatment plans accordingly.

Future efforts should focus on addressing these barriers and enhancing the use of risk assessment in CVD management. The advent of precision medicine and genomics also offers exciting opportunities for refining risk assessment strategies.
In conclusion, risk assessment is a cornerstone of CVD management. It allows for the identification of at-risk individuals and the implementation of tailored interventions. Healthcare professionals need to be proficient in risk assessment and committed to its use in everyday practice to improve patient outcomes.
