Personalized medicine, an approach that tailors treatment based on individual patient characteristics, has gained prominence in hypertension management. This approach, which incorporates genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors, allows for more precise and effective treatment plans. Genetic testing, for instance, can identify patients who are likely to respond well to certain antihypertensive drugs, thus improving treatment outcomes.
Telemedicine and remote patient monitoring are increasingly used in hypertension care. These technologies facilitate regular blood pressure monitoring, medication adherence, and lifestyle modification. They also enable healthcare providers to adjust treatment plans promptly based on real-time data, thereby improving blood pressure control and reducing cardiovascular risk.
