Abstract

Functional aging, distinct from chronological aging, refers to the progressive decline in physiological and physical capacities essential for independent living. In adults with preserved organ function, the prognostic trajectories of functional aging remain a critical focus for clinicians seeking to predict, prevent, and manage age-associated morbidity.
