This review examines the current landscape of emergency response education for MDTs, emphasizing epidemiology, pathophysiology of acute emergencies, risk stratification, clinical recognition, diagnostic approaches, evidence-based management, recent educational innovations, and guideline-endorsed strategies. The article highlights the importance of targeted, simulation-based, and interprofessional training interventions, analyzing their impact on clinical competence, teamwork, and patient safety. Challenges, gaps, and future directions for optimizing emergency response education are discussed, aiming to inform best practices for healthcare organizations and educators.

Introduction

Timely and coordinated responses to medical emergencies are crucial determinants of patient survival and recovery. As healthcare delivery grows more complex, the role of multidisciplinary teams in emergencies—ranging from cardiac arrests to trauma resuscitations—has become paramount. Emergency response education for such teams demands an integrative approach that transcends conventional, discipline-specific training.
