Treatment & Management

Management of obstetric emergencies is multidisciplinary and protocol-driven. For postpartum hemorrhage, the initial approach includes uterine massage, administration of uterotonic agents, and tranexamic acid, with escalation to surgical interventions as needed. Eclamptic seizures necessitate magnesium sulfate, blood pressure control, and expedited delivery. Amniotic fluid embolism requires immediate airway management, circulatory support, and correction of coagulopathy. Uterine rupture mandates emergent laparotomy and hemostasis.
