Disruptions in this equilibrium underlie a spectrum of pathological states, from autoimmune diseases to immunodeficiency. While modern immunology elucidates cellular and molecular mechanisms of immune regulation, traditional health concepts rooted in centuries-old medical systems offer complementary perspectives on maintaining physiological balance. This review examines the scientific basis of immune homeostasis, epidemiological trends in immune-related disorders, mechanistic insights, risk factors, clinical manifestations, diagnostic approaches, and management strategies. It further explores the convergence of contemporary immunology with traditional health frameworks, analyzes recent advances, and provides evidence-based guideline recommendations to optimize clinical outcomes for healthcare professionals.

Introduction

Immune homeostasis is critical for sustaining health by ensuring an appropriate immune response against pathogens while preventing excessive inflammation or self-reactivity. Modern medicine focuses on the cellular and molecular underpinnings of immune regulation, detailing the roles of regulatory T cells, cytokines, and checkpoints.
