What to Expect Before and After Anesthesia

Speciality: Anesthesia

Speaker:

Dr. RUBI SAHA | Consultant Anesthesiologist

Description:

Today, we're exploring what you can expect before and after anaesthesia. Before your procedure, your healthcare team will review your medical history, answer any questions, and ask you to avoid eating or drinking for several hours. You’ll likely meet your anaesthetist, who will explain the process and discuss any concerns. After the procedure, you may feel groggy or disoriented as the anaesthetic wears off. It's normal to experience mild side effects such as nausea or a sore throat, but these should improve within a few hours. Your care team will monitor your recovery and provide advice on managing any discomfort. Understanding this process can help you feel more at ease before your next procedure.
