Speciality: Critical Care

Speaker:

Dr. HEMA DURGA PRASAD JAKKANI | Critical Care Specialist

Description:

Welcome to our podcast. Today, we’re discussing the critical topic of sepsis. Sepsis is the body’s extreme response to an infection and can quickly become life-threatening. Early signs may include confusion, rapid heartbeat, fever or very low temperature, and shortness of breath. If you or someone you know develops these symptoms, especially after an infection or surgery, seek emergency medical help immediately. Early recognition and treatment are vital, as sepsis can progress rapidly. In hospital, treatment usually involves antibiotics and fluids to support vital organs. Remember, acting fast can save lives. Stay informed and don’t hesitate to call emergency services if you’re ever in doubt.
