Speciality: Unani
Description:
Welcome to our podcast, where we explore the intersection of ancient wisdom and modern science. Today, we’re discussing the traditional concepts of immune balance in Unani medicine. Unani medicine, developed over centuries, focuses on the body’s natural ability to maintain balance, or mizaj, through the regulation of four humors: blood, phlegm, yellow bile, and black bile. According to Unani scholars, health is achieved when these humors are in equilibrium, supporting the immune system’s natural defenses. Recent scientific reviews suggest that some Unani practices, such as herbal remedies and dietary guidance, may positively influence immune function. By understanding these traditional concepts, we can appreciate how ancient systems contribute to our knowledge of immunity and holistic health.
