Antibiotic Resistance: A Growing Health Threat

Speciality: Pharmacology

Speaker:

Dr. BIDYUT BARMAN | Clinical Pharmacologist

Description:

Antibiotic resistance is becoming one of the biggest challenges in modern medicine. Over time, the misuse and overuse of antibiotics have allowed harmful bacteria to adapt and survive, making common infections harder to treat. This means that even minor injuries or routine surgeries could become dangerous if antibiotics stop working. To help combat this threat, it’s vital to only use antibiotics when prescribed by a healthcare professional and to always complete the full course of treatment. By being responsible with antibiotic use, we can slow down resistance and ensure these life-saving medicines remain effective for future generations.
