Liver function tests, or LFTs, are simple blood tests that help assess how well your liver is working. These tests measure enzymes, proteins, and substances produced or processed by the liver. Abnormal results can indicate liver damage, inflammation, or underlying health conditions such as hepatitis or fatty liver disease. Early detection through LFTs enables timely intervention and better management of liver health. If you have risk factors like alcohol use, obesity, or a family history of liver disease, regular liver function tests are especially important. Always consult your doctor for proper interpretation and advice.
