Quiz on Atrial Fibrillation Management

Atrial Fibrillation, commonly referred to as AFib, is a cardiac condition characterized by irregular and rapid heartbeats originating in the upper chambers of the heart, known as atria. This abnormal rhythm disrupts the coordination between the atria and ventricles, compromising their ability to pump blood efficiently throughout the body. The irregular electrical signals cause chaotic contractions within the atria, resulting in a quivering motion instead of normal rhythmic beats. As a consequence, blood may pool in these chambers, increasing the risk of blood clots forming. Though symptoms can vary from person to person or even be absent entirely, individuals with AFib often experience palpitations, shortness of breath, fatigue, dizziness or fainting spells.
