Quiz on Cervical Cancer Management

Cervical cancer is a type of cancer that develops in the cells of the cervix, which is the lower part of the uterus. It typically begins with abnormal changes in the cells lining the cervix, known as precancerous lesions. These lesions can be detected through regular screenings such as Pap tests and HPV (human papillomavirus) tests, allowing for early detection and treatment. Cervical cancer is primarily caused by certain types of high-risk HPV infections, with persistent infection being a major risk factor. Other factors that increase the risk include smoking, weak immune system, long-term use of birth control pills, multiple sexual partners or early onset sexual activity. Symptoms may not appear until later stages but can include abnormal vaginal bleeding between periods or after intercourse, pelvic pain during intercourse or urination, and unusual vaginal discharge. Treatment options for cervical cancer depend on various factors including stage at diagnosis; they may involve surgery
