Pharmacotherapeutic interventions, including nicotine replacement therapy (NRT), bupropion, and varenicline, have proven effective in smoking cessation. These agents work by reducing nicotine cravings and withdrawal symptoms, thereby increasing the likelihood of successful cessation.
Behavioral interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and self-help resources, can significantly enhance quit rates. These strategies aim to address the psychological aspects of smoking addiction by helping patients identify triggers and develop coping mechanisms.
