Interprofessional collaboration, involving physicians, pharmacists, and nurses, is also vital in optimizing patient care and minimizing the risks associated with polypharmacy.
Polypharmacy represents a significant challenge in modern healthcare, necessitating a multidisciplinary approach to manage effectively. By understanding the complexities of drug interactions and implementing strategies to minimize risks, healthcare professionals can enhance patient safety, improve health outcomes, and reduce healthcare costs associated with polypharmacy. Continued education and research in this area are essential to navigate the intricacies of polypharmacy in an increasingly complex healthcare landscape.
