Pulmonary Hypertension (PH) is a complex, progressive condition characterized by high blood pressure in the lungs. For healthcare professionals, understanding the fundamentals of PH is crucial to ensure effective diagnosis, management, and treatment.
PH is primarily a disease of the pulmonary vasculature. It is marked by vasoconstriction, vascular remodeling, and thrombosis, leading to an increase in pulmonary vascular resistance, right ventricular overload, and ultimately, heart failure. The goal of treatment is to alleviate symptoms, improve quality of life, and prolong survival.
Healthcare professionals play a pivotal role in the management of PH. Beyond diagnosis and treatment, they are instrumental in patient education, monitoring disease progression, and coordinating multidisciplinary care. Regular follow-up and a comprehensive approach to care are key to managing this complex disease.

As healthcare professionals, continuous learning and staying abreast with the latest research are crucial for providing optimal care to patients with PH.
