Abdominal pain is a multifaceted symptom requiring a systematic approach for effective evaluation. A comprehensive history, physical examination, and judicious use of laboratory and imaging studies can help decipher the underlying cause. Recognizing the unique presentation in special populations and the need for a multidisciplinary approach in chronic cases can further enhance patient care.
