Diagnosing rare diseases can be a complex process due to their uncommon occurrence and the broad spectrum of symptoms they may present. The rarity of these conditions often leads to a lack of knowledge and understanding, resulting in misdiagnosis or delayed diagnosis. Consequently, it is crucial for healthcare professionals to maintain a high index of suspicion when dealing with unusual, unresponsive, or unexplained symptoms.
An integrative approach to diagnosis, combining clinical acumen with advanced diagnostic technologies, can significantly improve the identification of rare diseases.
