Precision medicine, also known as personalized medicine, is an innovative approach that tailors medical treatment to the individual characteristics of each patient. It considers genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors that often lead to variations in disease manifestation and treatment response. The ultimate goal is to optimize therapeutic effectiveness and minimize adverse effects.
Genomics plays a pivotal role in precision medicine by providing insights into genetic variations that contribute to disease susceptibility and drug response.
