Investigative tools play a vital role in narrowing the differential diagnosis. Complete blood count, liver and renal function tests, and inflammatory markers can provide clues. Specific serological tests, skin biopsy, or cultures may be necessary based on the clinical suspicion.
Several diseases can present with fever and rash. Viral exanthems are common in children, while drug reactions are more common in adults. Other potential causes include bacterial infections, autoimmune diseases, vasculitis, and malignancies. Familiarity with typical presentations of these conditions can expedite diagnosis and management.
