Proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9) inhibitors, for instance, have shown promise in significantly reducing low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) levels. Similarly, bempedoic acid, a first-in-class ATP citrate lyase (ACL) inhibitor, has demonstrated efficacy in LDL-C reduction when used alone or in combination with statins.
