Emphasis is placed on recent research, emerging therapies, and updated guidelines, providing a balanced and scientifically rigorous perspective for clinicians considering homeopathy as part of integrative care.
Homeopathy, first developed by Samuel Hahnemann in the late 18th century, is predicated on the principles of \"like cures like\" and the use of highly diluted substances to stimulate self-healing. Despite ongoing controversy and skepticism within mainstream medicine, homeopathy remains widely used across the globe. In the past decade, scientific investigations have explored its underlying mechanisms, clinical efficacy, and safety, yielding new insights and raising important questions. This article reviews recent advances in homeopathy, emphasizing evidence-based findings and their implications for clinical practice.
Globally, homeopathy is practiced in over 80 countries, with significant utilization in Europe, India, and South America. Surveys indicate that up to 10% of the European population have used homeopathic remedies, and in India, homeopathy is integrated into national healthcare with millions of annual consultations.
