Management of thyroid nodules depends on the clinical, imaging, and cytological findings. Benign nodules can be managed conservatively with regular follow-up, while malignant or suspicious nodules require surgical intervention. The goal is to provide appropriate treatment while minimizing unnecessary surgeries.
Thyroid nodule evaluation is a complex process that requires a comprehensive and systematic approach. Understanding the epidemiology, clinical evaluation, imaging, cytology, and management strategies can help healthcare professionals navigate this complexity and provide optimal patient care.
