However, an uncontrolled or prolonged fever may lead to deleterious effects, such as dehydration, metabolic acidosis, or even delirium.
Accurate assessment and diagnosis form the bedrock of fever management. A detailed history, thorough physical examination, and appropriate investigations are crucial to identify the underlying cause.
