Adherence to these guidelines ensures that patients receive the most accurate and timely diagnosis, thereby improving patient outcomes and reducing mortality rates.
Several health organizations, including the American Cancer Society and the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force, regularly update their cancer screening guidelines. These guidelines provide recommendations on the types of screenings, the age to start and stop screening, and the frequency of screenings for different types of cancers.
