Rational antibiotic use can significantly improve patient health by reducing the risk of antibiotic-related adverse events, Clostridioides difficile infection, and the emergence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria. It also ensures the effectiveness of antibiotics for future generations.
Antibiotic stewardship is a shared responsibility that requires the active participation of all healthcare professionals. By adopting a rational approach to antibiotic use in medical practice, we can ensure optimal patient health outcomes, safeguard the efficacy of existing antibiotics, and combat the global threat of antibiotic resistance.
