The challenge of differentiating benign self-limited febrile illnesses from life-threatening conditions underscores the necessity for a nuanced, evidence-based approach, especially as new diagnostic modalities and therapeutic options emerge. This review provides an in-depth exploration of the current understanding of fever across clinical settings, incorporating mechanism-based insights and practical clinical implications.
