Immunotherapy offers several benefits, including precision targeting of cancer cells, reduced side effects, and potential for long-term cancer control. However, it also carries risks, such as immune-related adverse events (irAEs) like inflammation and autoimmune reactions. Physicians should carefully consider these factors when deciding on a treatment plan.
Immunotherapy represents a significant stride in cancer treatment, offering a novel approach that leverages the body's own defenses. As research progresses, it is hoped that this treatment modality will become increasingly effective and widely accessible. Physicians must stay abreast of these developments to provide the best care for their patients.
