Integration of these modalities with clinical data enables early, accurate, and specific diagnoses, guiding subsequent management. Multidisciplinary team meetings and shared decision-making further enhance diagnostic accuracy and patient engagement.
Management of neurological disorders requires a multifaceted approach, combining pharmacological, non-pharmacological, and rehabilitative strategies. Disease-modifying therapies for multiple sclerosis, antiepileptic drugs for seizure control, thrombolysis and thrombectomy in acute stroke, and dopaminergic therapies in Parkinson’s disease exemplify the range of evidence-based treatments available. Integrated care pathways include patient education, psychosocial support, and coordinated follow-up, optimizing adherence and quality of life. Collaborative care involving neurologists, primary care physicians, physiatrists, nurses, and allied health professionals is central to effective long-term management.
Recent years have witnessed significant advances in neurology, including the advent of monoclonal antibodies for migraine, gene therapies for rare neuromuscular disorders, and novel disease-modifying agents in Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. Advances in neuroimmunology, neuroregeneration, and precision medicine are poised to transform therapeutic paradigms. Digital health technologies, telemedicine, and remote monitoring have expanded access to neurological care and facilitated real-time management of chronic conditions. Integration of these innovations into daily practice demands ongoing education, infrastructure development, and guideline adaptation.
Professional societies such as the American Academy of Neurology, European Academy of Neurology, and World Stroke Organization provide evidence-based guidelines that underline the importance of integrated strategies. Key recommendations include multidisciplinary care for stroke rehabilitation, comprehensive management of epilepsy with individualized risk assessment, and early diagnosis and intervention in neurodegenerative diseases. Adherence to guidelines ensures consistency, safety, and efficacy in patient care, while allowing flexibility for personalized approaches based on patient preferences and comorbidities.
