Digital surveillance systems can facilitate real-time monitoring of infections, while electronic health records can aid in tracking patient history and identifying potential infection risks. Furthermore, online education platforms can be used for training healthcare workers on IPC protocols.
Implementing robust IPC programs is a critical component of quality healthcare. Although challenges may arise, with leadership commitment, continuous education, effective use of technology, and a culture of safety, healthcare facilities can successfully establish and maintain these programs, ultimately improving patient outcomes and reducing the burden of HCAIs.
