The pituitary gland is a small, pea-sized organ located at the base of the brain. It releases hormones that regulate growth, metabolism, stress response, reproduction, and water balance in the body.
Pituitary disorders result from either an overproduction or underproduction of hormones. Common disorders include Pituitary Adenomas, Hypopituitarism, Hyperprolactinemia, Cushing's Disease, and Acromegaly. These disorders can cause a wide range of symptoms, from fatigue and weight changes to vision problems and infertility, making them challenging to diagnose.
