Cancer vaccines, which stimulate the immune system to attack specific cancer antigens, have shown promise in preventing certain types of cancer and treating existing ones. However, identifying suitable antigens and ensuring a robust immune response are key challenges in this area.
Immunotherapy has opened up new avenues in cancer treatment, offering hope to patients who have exhausted conventional options. While significant challenges remain, ongoing research and clinical trials promise to refine these therapies and expand their applicability. As physicians, it is crucial to stay abreast of these developments to provide the best possible care to our patients.
