There have been significant improvements in hepatitis diagnostic techniques. The advent of high-resolution ultrasound, CT, and MRI has improved the detection and characterization of hepatic lesions. Furthermore, the development of non-invasive liver fibrosis assessment tools such as transient elastography (FibroScan) and serum biomarkers have reduced the need for invasive liver biopsies.
Antiviral therapy for hepatitis has seen groundbreaking advancements. Direct-acting antivirals (DAAs) have revolutionized hepatitis C treatment, offering cure rates exceeding 95%. For hepatitis B, tenofovir and entecavir have emerged as potent antivirals, significantly reducing the risk of liver cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma.

The COVID-19 pandemic has underscored the role of telemedicine in managing chronic diseases like hepatitis. Telemedicine enables remote patient monitoring, ensuring continuity of care, reducing hospital visits, and limiting disease transmission.
The field of hepatitis management is continuously evolving, with significant advancements in diagnostics, antiviral therapy, immunotherapy, and the integration of telemedicine. These developments have improved patient outcomes and promise a future where hepatitis can be effectively controlled, if not eradicated.
