Recent years have seen the introduction of new antiviral agents that have revolutionized the treatment of hepatitis C. Direct-acting antivirals (DAAs) have been shown to achieve sustained virologic response rates exceeding 90%, even in patients with advanced liver disease. These drugs, including sofosbuvir, ledipasvir, and daclatasvir, have also demonstrated excellent safety profiles.
While the hepatitis B vaccine has been around for decades, recent advances have improved its efficacy. The recent introduction of a two-dose hepatitis B vaccine, Heplisav-B, has been shown to provide superior protection compared to the traditional three-dose vaccines, particularly in populations that have lower response rates, such as older adults and people with diabetes.

Additionally, AI can assist in identifying patients at risk of hepatitis, facilitating early intervention.
