Abstract

Recurrent febrile episodes, defined as repeated occurrences of fever over time, present significant challenges for both patients and clinicians. Beyond the immediate physiological impact, these episodes can substantially impair daily functioning, psychological well-being, and overall quality of life. This review synthesizes current evidence on the clinical burden, underlying mechanisms, risk factors, diagnostic strategies, and evolving management approaches aimed at restoring daily comfort in affected individuals. Emphasis is placed on guideline-based interventions, emerging therapies, and practical strategies for clinicians to optimize patient outcomes and enhance quality of life following recurrent febrile events.

While a single febrile episode often resolves with appropriate management, recurrent febrile episodes whether due to infectious, autoinflammatory, or other etiologies pose unique diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. The diagnostic challenge lies in distinguishing between infectious, autoimmune, neoplastic, and idiopathic causes each requiring distinct management strategies. Treatment & Management
