Immunotherapy, a rapidly evolving field of oncology, leverages the body's immune system to combat cancer. This revolutionary approach has transformed the treatment landscape, offering hope to patients with advanced malignancies that were once deemed untreatable.
Immunotherapy encompasses a broad spectrum of therapies that boost or reprogram the immune system to fight cancer. The most common types include immune checkpoint inhibitors, cancer vaccines, and CAR-T cell therapy. These treatments work by disrupting the mechanisms that cancer cells use to evade the immune system, thereby enabling the immune cells to attack and destroy cancer cells.
