These systems, integrated within electronic health records, can alert clinicians to potential sepsis cases based on real-time patient data. They can also provide evidence-based recommendations for management, thereby reducing the time to initiation of treatment.
Enhancing early sepsis recognition and management is a critical aspect of improving patient outcomes. This can be achieved through continuous education, effective use of screening tools, prompt initiation of the sepsis bundle, and leveraging technology such as CDSS. A proactive approach to sepsis management can significantly reduce sepsis-related morbidity and mortality.
