When progressive in nature and accompanied by upper airway symptoms such as stridor, voice changes, or obstruction, it raises concern for complex underlying disease processes often involving anatomical, neuromuscular, or infiltrative causes. Case-based learning enhances clinical reasoning by contextualizing pathophysiology and management within real patient scenarios. Patients with suspected malignancy or neuromuscular disease should be referred to specialized centers for advanced diagnostics and therapeutic interventions. The use of validated swallowing assessment tools and standardized reporting protocols is emphasized to ensure consistency and optimize patient outcomes. Ongoing surveillance and rehabilitation are recommended to monitor progression and prevent complications.
