Abstract

Precision Recovery Readiness Profiling (PRRP) represents a transformative paradigm in addiction care, enabling tailored interventions based on individual risk, resilience, and biological markers. This review synthesizes current evidence regarding PRRP's scientific foundation, clinical utility, and integration into modern addiction medicine. We address epidemiological trends, pathophysiological underpinnings, risk assessment frameworks, and the application of PRRP in optimizing patient outcomes. Furthermore, emerging technologies, guideline recommendations, and future directions are discussed to empower clinicians in delivering evidence-based, patient-centric addiction care.

Introduction

Addiction continues to be a pervasive challenge globally, with relapse rates remaining high despite advances in treatment modalities. Traditional approaches to addiction recovery often rely on generalized assessment and intervention strategies, which may not account for the heterogeneous nature of substance use disorders (SUDs). Precision Recovery Readiness Profiling (PRRP) seeks to bridge this gap by integrating multidimensional patient data encompassing biological, psychological, and social determinants to inform individualized recovery pathways. This precision approach fosters patient engagement, adherence, and sustained recovery outcomes by aligning interventions with individualized risk and resilience profiles.

Recent Advances / Emerging Therapies

Recent advances in PRRP include the use of machine learning algorithms to analyze large volumes of multidimensional patient data, enabling more accurate prediction of relapse risk and intervention response. Digital health platforms equipped with ecological momentary assessment (EMA) tools, wearable biosensors, and telehealth capabilities facilitate continuous monitoring and timely clinical decision-making.
