Pulmonary rehabilitation and breathing exercises can improve lung function and reduce dyspnea. In cases where anxiety plays a role, cognitive-behavioral therapy can be beneficial.
An interdisciplinary approach involving pulmonologists, cardiologists, physiotherapists, and mental health professionals can provide comprehensive care. Regular follow-ups and reassessments are crucial to monitor the patient's progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
Unraveling the breathless patient requires a thorough and systematic approach. Identifying the underlying cause, assessing the severity and impact, and implementing tailored management strategies are key steps. An interdisciplinary approach can ensure comprehensive care, improving patient outcomes and quality of life.
