Direct-Acting Antiviral Agents (DAAs) have revolutionized the treatment of Hepatitis C. These drugs act directly on the virus to prevent its replication, offering cure rates of over 90%. Recent advancements have seen the introduction of pangenotypic DAAs, capable of treating all genotypes of Hepatitis C.
Immunotherapy is emerging as a promising approach for the treatment of chronic Hepatitis B. Recent trials have shown that using immune checkpoint inhibitors can reactivate the immune response against HBV, potentially leading to functional cure.
