It is intrinsically linked with potential drug interactions, which can lead to adverse effects, compromising the patient's health and safety. With the aging population and the increasing prevalence of chronic diseases, polypharmacy is becoming more common. It is particularly prevalent among older adults, as they often have multiple comorbidities requiring complex medication regimes.
