This article provides an update on these advancements, offering insights into the current best practices for Hepatitis management.
Recent innovations in diagnostics have revolutionized Hepatitis detection. Novel serological and molecular tests have improved the sensitivity and specificity of Hepatitis diagnosis, enabling earlier and more accurate detection. Additionally, non-invasive liver stiffness measurements have provided a safer alternative to liver biopsy for assessing disease severity and progression.
The introduction of Direct-Acting Antivirals (DAAs) has transformed the treatment landscape for Hepatitis C, offering cure rates exceeding 95%. For Hepatitis B, long-term nucleos(t)ide analogues have shown efficacy in suppressing viral replication and preventing disease progression. Furthermore, the development of therapeutic vaccines is a promising avenue for future treatment strategies.
Recent research has provided new insights into the pathophysiology of Hepatitis. This includes a better understanding of the virus-host interactions, immune responses, and the role of genetic and environmental factors in disease progression.
