Vector-borne diseases (VBDs) represent a significant public health challenge in India, necessitating a comprehensive understanding of their epidemiology, control measures, and impact on the healthcare system.
In India, VBDs such as malaria, dengue, chikungunya, and Japanese encephalitis are widespread. The National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP) reports millions of cases annually. Healthcare professionals play a critical role in managing VBDs. They are at the forefront of early diagnosis and treatment, patient education, and advocacy for public health measures. Their understanding of the epidemiology and control of VBDs is essential for effective disease management and control.
The burden of VBDs in India is substantial, with significant implications for the healthcare system. Comprehensive understanding and strategic interventions are crucial to mitigate this public health challenge. Healthcare professionals, with their pivotal role, are key to achieving this goal.
