The field of Hepatology has witnessed significant advancements and innovations in recent years. These developments have revolutionized the approach towards the diagnosis, treatment, and management of Hepatitis. This article aims to provide healthcare professionals with a comprehensive update on these recent advances.
Recent years have seen the introduction of novel diagnostic techniques. These include the use of next-generation sequencing for viral detection and genotyping, which has improved diagnostic accuracy. Additionally, FibroScan, a non-invasive tool for assessing liver fibrosis, has been increasingly adopted in clinical practice. This technique provides a safer and more patient-friendly alternative to liver biopsy.
Therapeutically, the advent of direct-acting antivirals (DAAs) has transformed the treatment landscape of Hepatitis C.
